I said it before, and I’ll say it again…
Nuclear power is completely safe.
People, however, are not.
And therein lies the rub.
Take for instance, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine
It is the largest nuclear power station in Europe, and in February 2022, Russian forces seized it.
This week, however, we learned officials have begun evacuating people from the region.
According to Rafael Grossi, the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the situation in the area near Zaporizhzhia is becoming increasingly unpredictable and potentially dangerous.

With images like this, it’s easy to see why so many folks still oppose the further development of nuclear power.
Of course, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station uses “old technology,” and this truism should not be ignored.
