Gazprom (OTC: OGZPY) Trans-Europe Pipeline Barrels Through Serbia

Over the Weekend, Serbia welded its ceremonial first joint into Gazprom’s trans-European gas transmission system known as the South Stream Pipeline. Gazprom says Serbia is strategically important in the development of a gas transmission network that covers most of Europe, and that it should decrease transit risks facing the Russian gas supply. The next country to join into the pipeline will be Hungary on Serbia’s northern border.
