Donald Trump stocks. What are they, and why should you care?

I actually opined on this last week, where I identified Trump tariff stocks as stocks that are likely to benefit as a result of the president’s tariff agenda.  These Trump tariff stocks are also called Donald Trump stocks, and the terminology is interchangeable.

The obvious plays here are domestic mining and processing companies.  Some of my favorites include…

• Freeport-McMoRan (NYSE: FCX) 
• Silvercorp Metals (NYSE: SVM)

But more than anything, the most profitable Donald Trump stocks right now aren’t even stocks.

Last week, gold hit $3,000 an ounce.

A prediction, by the way, we made months ago.  And make no mistake: it’s got plenty more room to move.  Because no matter how you slice it, when the broader markets run from tariffs and trade wars, they embrace gold.  Especially when those tariffs and trade wars are coupled with higher prices, slower economic growth and geopolitical tensions.  Which is exactly what we’re seeing right now. 

It’s also worth noting that gold stockpiles at Comex depositories are now at their highest in four years.  The last time we saw these levels was during the pandemic.
