Northstar Global Business Services, Inc. (OTCMKTS: MDIN) has come up with a THC oral spray that supposedly can deliver the health benefits of marijuana without any of its harmful side effects.
Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is the principal psychoactive agent found in the cannabis plant. Most commonly referred to as marijuana, the controversial plant is no stranger to making headlines – both good and bad. This time however, with several partners, Northstar is taking its patented oral spray, along with its existing proprietary spray formulas, and using it for the good of the people – to help and to heal – and entering the booming industry that is medical marijuana.
For it or against it – you can’t deny the fact that marijuana, and medical marijuana in particular, is gaining acceptance and public support from around the world – a shift that we’ve seen in the past decade.
Medical marijuana is used increasingly in western medicine as an alternative to opiates, anti-depressants and other toxic drugs, often criticized as being highly addictive, and what in the states, is becoming an epidemic of abuse.
The nearly $2 billion U.S. medical marijuana industry of today will see itself quadruple in size over the next five years, and I’m not just blowing smoke. Three-quarters of Americans, including 72 percent of Republicans, already believe that marijuana has legitimate medical uses.
Even scientific leaders like Dr. Sanjay Gupta have become proponents of the plant. He changed his stance against the medical use of marijuana when he released a recent documentary, “WEED,” that outlines several medical benefits including help for cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, muscle spasms, seizures, severe pain, severe nausea, weight loss and muscle atrophy.
States like Colorado and Washington have decriminalized the recreational use of marijuana already, while twenty states and the District of Columbia have legalized the use of medical marijuana. Now, even slower-to-change southern states are getting in on the rotation, and proposing various degrees of support.
Those left sitting on the fence, or still opposed, now have to contend with companies like Northstar who provide the effective use of the THC compound, while eliminating harmful agents such as carcinogens that come along with lighting up.
Still, naysayers will tell you we’re opening Pandora’s Box. Marijuana is a gateway drug, and we’re all going to turn into crazy dope fiends like those of Reefer Madness fame – the propaganda film of the mid to late 1930s that helped outlaw marijuana in 1937.
And maybe that’s extreme, but that’s how people really felt back then. Others are still hell bent against it today. And I’m not saying marijuana can’t be abused. I believe it can, but in my opinion, the good far outweighs the bad, and if it can help us; if it can help our loved ones, than we owe it to ourselves to try.
Counting the Ways
So put down the pipe, there chief. There are one million and one ways to ingest THC from marijuana, and you don’t have to light up and smoke it every time.
Traditionally, that’s the way it has always been done. You roll a joint, pack a bowl, light a bong, or maybe you’re feeling crafty and you have an apple handy. But the evolution of pot smoking has come a long way since Wavy Gravy and the road to Woodstock.
I’m sure you’ve heard about making weed brownies; you can make a batch of cookies, cakes, muffins, even candy. Pretty much, if you can bake it, you can make it, and that too is a healthier alternative to smoking it.
There’s also a vaporizer – a device that lets a user inhale smoke, but in the process, all the toxic and carcinogenic by-products are eliminated. As legalization spreads, so too will the ways in which we find to use THC.
Going through the pipe right now, and a method that is even safe for children, is the use of cannabis oil, with low doses of THC. A big stigma surrounding the use of THC with children; you don’t want to hand a kid a joint and say, “here kid, smoke this.” However, if you can offer a child a low-dose oil to ingest and it alleviates their pain or diminishes their hundred-seizure-a-day epilepsy, the stigma is kind of moot.
It’s in cases with children where a lot of people are starting to change their perceptions of medical marijuana. You show them the proof, and we’ll get the pudding.

Northstar is doing its part. For nearly two decades now, it has been perfecting oral spray delivery used as supplements, with unique patented spray systems that have been well received by consumers from around the world, and now it’s doing it with THC.

Right now they’re working on products such as topical solutions, food and beverages, and delivery systems that would work through mucus membranes, similar to Northstar.
There are also countless research programs out there working with marijuana and the benefits of THC; some in the form of a pill, while others are developing inhalers, skin patches, and even rectal suppositories.
The Takeaway
As for Northstar’s oral spray, you might know that there are already THC sprays out there on the market, and if you know that, you probably know that they’re all junk, too. They’re slow acting, work through the digestive system, and often require many sprays to realize any kind of effect.
Northstar offers a soy and oil based formula that is supposed to penetrate the bloodstream before it reaches the digestive system, in turn, working much faster and more effectively.
